Built in 1830, the cottage provides an ideal base for visitors seeking a holiday with a country or city focus. The beautiful Peak Park with picturesque towns and villages is easily accessible via nearby Langsett. The area caters for all tastes - including the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, National Coal Mining Museum, Magna Science Adventure Centre and Eureka (Museum for Children) as well as Holmfirth, famous for Last of the Summer Wine TV Series. Bikes can be hired in nearby Penistone just off the Trans Pennine Trail.
The 3 vibrant Northern cities of Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester are equidistant and all accessible by public transport. They have theatres, concert halls, museums and galleries in abundance. Leave the car and take the bus to Penistone for regular trains to Leeds or Sheffield centres. Or a 20 minute drive to Glossop provides similar rail access to Manchester Piccadilly. Parking is free at the local stations.

From the M1
From junction 35a take the A616. Cross the A628 and take the A6106 at the next crossroads. Carlecotes is the next left hand turn. The cottage is the last building on the right.
From Manchester
Take the A628. Leave the road at the summit of the Woodhead Pass (Windle Edge). The cottage is the first building on the left as you enter Carlecotes.
By Public Transport
Trains from Sheffield, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Leeds stop at Pensitone just 5 miles from Carlecotes. There are also Trains from Manchester to Glossop. Lifts possible by arrangement.
